Symptoms for Headaches-Determining Your Game Plan for Relief
By Thomas Traina, DC

Headache. When you’ve got one, you would do almost anything to get rid of it. The so-called migraine headache is a common and debilitating part of many people’s lives, as are the more common neck pain headaches brought on by muscle tension. But what if the solution was more simple than you thought?

Do your symptoms for headaches often begin as tightness or tenderness at the base of the skull near the hairline and radiate on both sides up the back of the head and around to the eyes? This can best be described as a muscle tension headache. And not surprisingly, an overwhelming contributing factor to such a headache is stress - and who doesn’t have an overabundance of that in their lives these days?

Chiropractic care is an important component of treatment for relief from various different types of headaches. You might not think of your chiropractor when you get that familiar pain in your head, but chiropractic care can treat ailments ranging from soft tissue and spinal problems to the hardcore headache. In our practice we don’t pretend that we can eliminate your stress altogether, but rather help you to better deal with and manage stress to avoid the unwanted headache.

The process is fairly simple; a short interview and a thorough examination are usually what is necessary to discover the source of your pain and to determine if chiropractic care may be effective in reducing or even eliminating your headache and migraine pain.
